Our History
Over 50 years ago, it was the leadership of a service club, the Kiwanis Club of Hamilton East, that led to the creation of the Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys’ (and Girls’) Club.
The dedicated volunteers and staff of the Boys’ & Girls Club did not rest, but began what would become a community development strategy—identifying unmet needs in the community and responding with action. Commencing with Hamilton East Kiwanis Pre-School Education Centre, they soon recognized that young people were still falling through the cracks. The response was George R. Force Groups Homes Inc, a teaching family group home that would look after troubled young people in their own community. The organization’s portfolio of service continued to grow with many initiatives supporting our community.
